Paloma Picasso (b. 1949) is the daughter of Pablo Picasso and an accomplished jewelry designer. AW photographed her on numerous occasions. In 1975 she spent a week with AW and Bob Colacello working as his “assistant” at an artist residency in Italy. Shortly thereafter, he painted her portrait in a style that paid homage to her father.

Clara Saint (dates unknown) was a Chilean heiress, Parisian social powerhouse, and press attaché for Yves Saint Laurent in the 1970s. She was a recurring figure in AW’s Parisian orbit and at times helped AW and Bob Colacello deal with the French media.

Pierre Bergé (b. 1930) was Yves Saint Laurent’s longtime boyfriend and business partner.
The dapper Bergé was instrumental in helping the French fashion designer launch his own brand in 1961 and build it into an empire of Parisian chic. They opened a YSL boutique in New York in 1969, traveled in the same fashionable, elite circles as AW and his coterie, and collected art and antiques around the world.
