Bianca Jagger (b. 1945): ex-wife of Mick Jagger and a key member of the AW-Halston-Liza Minnelli circle. Jagger was a star of the disco scene, but also conducted interviews for
Interview and appeared in the magazine’s pages as well as on its cover, in 1973 and ’75.
After her split with Mick in 1977, she lived, for a time, in Halston’s apartment. She’s now an advocate for human rights and civil liberties.
Victor Hugo (d. 1993): Halston’s Venezuelan-born boyfriend and a close friend of AW. He designed advertisements and dressed windows for Halston, and notoriously threw orgies in the designer’s apartment when he was away. Hugo arranged many of the sexual encounters captured in AW’s Sex Parts series of pornographic close-ups, bringing male prostitutes to the factory and to his home for AW to photograph. Halston commissioned AW to paint Hugo’s portrait in the late ’70s. Hugo died of aids.
